Amsterdam Trees

I just got back from a short three day trip to Amsterdam where I helped Jason Lazarus make a photograph of the top of a tree in Anne Frank's courtyard. We figured out that we couldn't make the image out of her bedroom window(in Green), because they were all blacked out and if we were able to get into her courtyard we would only see the bottom of the tree(in Yellow). So we proceeded to knock on random doors on the block, with luck a woman actually let us into the courtyard of the landscaping firm(in Red) that she work at. We got to stay there for over an hour making photographs and a video of the tree.

It was nice to visit Amsterdam, but shortly realized it is the Cancun of northern Europe and how classy Vienna is. I'm glad to be back at the studio focusing on making new work.

Bell Street Projects

I have just arrived in Vienna and got thrown right into mix. Last night we went to an opening at Bell Street Projects in the 2nd district and enjoyed some white wine spritzers and some ok paintings from two Chicago artists. I'm staying in a great studio apartment with my friend Jason Lazarus who has been here for the past month at a residency program. I can't wait to starting making new work and hopefully blogging a little more.
